Don’t miss these DEI training opportunities!

It’s always a good time to expand your diversity, equity and inclusion competency! Take a look at some training opportunities available this fall:

The UW Women in Science & Engineering Leadership Institute (WISELI) and the SMPH Office of Faculty Affairs and Development are offering "Searching for Excellence & Diversity: A Workshop for Faculty Search Committees" on September 13, 12:30-3:30 p.m. The workshop aims to increase the excellence and diversity of applicant pools, reduce bias in applicant evaluation, improve interviewing processes and create an increasingly diverse and excellent faculty body. All members of SMPH faculty search committees and staff who assist search committees are encouraged to attend. Registration is required, and if the September 13 date is not convenient, other sessions are available this fall that are open to all schools and colleges. Learn more about this training session and other available dates here!

The UW-Madison Libraries and Office of Inclusion Education have created a self-paced learning module “Reflecting on Social Justice Foundational Concepts”. The five-part online training will help you develop an awareness of social identity and the power dynamics associated with identities; define implicit bias and identify ways to combat bias; understand microaggressions; and much more. Check out the course here.
