The UW SMPH Group on Women in Medicine and Science (GWIMS) and Ebling Library for the Health Sciences invite all members of the SMPH community to view the highly acclaimed documentary film Picture a Scientist and join us for a panel discussion of the film on Friday, June 18 from 4-5pm via Zoom.
Picture A Scientist is a groundbreaking documentary that describes the journeys of three women scientists navigating the bias they encounter in academia. The documentary shines a light on the discrimination that they faced and creates a platform for sharing experiences and fostering discussion of ways to promote and support women in academia. The film is available to stream on-demand free of charge here.

The panel will be moderated by members of the SMPH GWIMS Steering Committee and will take place on Friday, June 18, 2021 from 4-5pm. We anticipate a powerful and robust discussion of the film and its lessons, and welcome participation by all members of the SMPH community.
