QIRC leadership change coming September 1

The UW Department of Ob-Gyn is preparing for a leadership change to the UW Ob-Gyn Quality Improvement Review Committee (QIRC) later this summer. Ahmed Al-Niaimi, MD, of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology, has led the QIRC since February 2017. Over that time, Dr. Al-Niaimi expanded the QIRC’s capacity tremendously. His commitment to improving outcomes across all clinical services in our department has been transformational. Dr. Al-Niaimi will step down from leading the QIRC on September 1, 2022.

Katie Antony, MD, of the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, will become the next QIRC director on September 1, 2022. Dr. Antony has been the Inpatient and Quality Improvement Director for the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine since 2018, and recently developed a quality improvement program for the UW Ob-Gyn residency.

Please help us thank Dr. Al-Niaimi for his leadership and service, and welcome Dr. Antony to this new role.
