On January 17, 2022, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday will mark the 27th anniversary of the National Day of Service. This day was established to honor the life and legacy of Dr. King, and to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities.

“Trace the Line”. SMPH and UW Health In Community MLK Event on Friday, Jan. 14, which will consist of a virtual screening and conversation of Alejandro Miranda Cruz’s film “Trace the Line.” This event is co-hosted by SMPH and UW Health. On the registration page you can choose to attend the virtual group screening on January 14 from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., or to receive a link to the film for viewing on your own between Jan. 7-17. Everyone is then invited to a virtual conversation with the filmmaker from 12:30-1 p.m. on January 14, which will begin after the optional group screening and can be joined by individuals who watched the film on their own.
