This is a work by all Stanic Lab members, but especially Yan Li, PhD (post-doctoral fellow), Gladys Lopez, MSc (Researcher) and Payton Lindner (research intern) over several years of hard work. It focuses on how innate lymphoid cells at the maternal interface remodel in the decidua across pregnancy and unusual plasticity of an important transcription factor RORγt at the maternal-fetal interface.
This study implicates plasticity in transcription factors previously thought as static and lineage-defining as important targets of gestational functional regulation. The Stanic Lab is pursuing these findings under the auspices of several projects, including the Burroughs Wellcome Fund - Preterm Birth Initiative Award (Innate Lymphoid Cells Plasticity in Preterm Labor).
