On May 16, Laura Cooney, MD, of the UW Ob-Gyn Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and
Infertility, presented the Healthy Women Community Talk “Polycystic Ovary
Syndrome (PCOS): The Myths and the Facts.” About 50 people attended the talk in
person and online.
During her talk, Cooney explained what PCOS is and how
prevalent it is, outlined its potential effect on fertility as well as other
long-term health complications, discussed treatment options, and offered tips
on how patients can talk about PCOS with their doctors.
