Save the date for the 2019 UW
SMPH Bioethics Symposium! On April 18 from 1:00-5:30pm, local and national
experts will discuss ethics and pregnancy in clinical trials, followed by a
mock IRB simulation.
During the mock IRB simulation, expert panelists pull will back
the curtain on how institutional review boards evaluate potentially
controversial research protocols involving pregnant participants. Joining the
keynote speakers on the Mock IRB will be UW-Madison’s Alta Charo, JD, professor
of law, and Norman Fost, MD, MPH, professor emeritus of bioethics and
pediatrics.
