Remote Desktop for Windows

IMPORTANT!!

How to sign out of Remote Desktop

  • Right click the windows icon in the bottom left corner
  • >Hover over Shut down or sign out
  • Select Sign out


Connecting remotely to your department desktop is a two step process. First step: you need to remote into the Ob-Gyn Remote Access Server. Second step: from the Ob-Gyn Remote Access Server you then need to remote into your office desktop.

Note: You will see access to files after completing the first step, but you need to continue to complete the second step as well in order to be fully connected.

First Step: Connecting to Ob-Gyn Remote Access Server

  • Open remote Desktop connection (can search by this name or type mstsc.exe (within search))
  • Enter remote.obgyn.wisc.edu in the Computer field and then click Connect
  • Enter user name and password. User name is required to have obgyn\ in front of it as shown in the example: obgyn\YourUserName
  • Select Yes at the prompt (check the "Don't ask me again for connections to this computer" to skip this step in the future)
 

 
Second Step: Connecting to your office computer
  • Open remote Desktop connection (can search by this name or type mstsc.exe (within search))

  • Connect to the DOG# of your office computer and select connect. If you are unsure of your DOG# computer a help desk ticket or contact Chad at 417-4220
 
  • Type in user name and password having the obgyn\ in front of the user name is required
 

 
You should now be connected to your office computer
